Fungal Nail Treatment

Fungal nail infections, known as ONYCHOMYCOSIS, can lead to you feeling self conscious with the overall appearance of your feet. Treatments can be effective in the early stages of any infection but can be much harder to achieve a successful outcome if the infection itself has reached the nail bed, this is why prompt treatment is crucial.

Initially a fungal nail infection presents itself as a white discolouration of the edges of the nail, but once established the nails gradually thicken and become crumbly appearing more yellow in colour. By this stage It usually affects both the nail and the nail bed and can spread to other nails.

Recommendations will be given on how to treat the fungal and advice on how to maintain the affected nails which would usually involve thinning of the thickened nails with an electric file.

This treatment can be on going due to the slower rate of growth of toenails compared to finger nails.

A consultation will be required at the first appointment and advice on a treatment plan will be discussed.
