Ingrown toenails can be painful and lead to severe discomfort if left untreated. The problem occurs when the nail starts to curve and grows into the skin, most common on the big toe nail known as the hallux.
This condition can be caused by many issues such as incorrect cutting of the nails, tight fitting shoes or genetics.
My approach includes gentle removal of the ingrown edge to give immediate relief, and advice on how to prevent future occurrences. In some cases where surgery would be required, you would be advised to see a specialist podiatrist who would be able to perform surgery to correct the problem.
A consultation will be required at the first appointment and advice on a treatment plan will be discussed.
